Pouring molten aluminum into a sand mold. Ward Aluminum Casting

Ward Aluminum Casting, Inc. manufactures high-quality aluminum castings in sand, semi-permanent and permanent mold processes. From non-heat treated commercial grades to high-strength heat-treatable alloys, WAC produces aluminum castings ranging from low-volume prototypes to high-production quantities, and is able to tailor their methods to meet the customers' casting and production requirements.

An in-house lab includes a 23-element vacuum spectrograph, 3D fluoroscopic x-ray unit and other advanced foundry lab testing equipment including penetrant inspection capability. WAC utilizes nitrogen-producing generators, rotary flux injection systems and mechanical filtering to clean and degas metal. These procedures achieve premium quality properties in aluminum – an industry recognized achievement.

The olivine sand system enhances the molding equipment which includes a B&P 2016 automatic molding machine, and three #3191 Osbourn Rotolift molding machines, with flask sizes up to 34" x 48". The permanent mold area includes automatic tilt-pour and static molding devices, producing both permanent and semi-permanent mold aluminum castings.
